It is difficult to define meditation as it is more of an experience than something concrete. Just as the definition of joy will vary from person to person to too will the term meditation.
My opinion is that meditation is the act of turning off the noise/fears/thoughts/doubts of day to day life in order to focus on either knowing thyself, or forgetting thyself.
To forget thyself one would focus on the interconnectedness of everything. See all life, all thoughts, and all time as One.
To know thyself, one would travel inwards and really feel and experience themselves on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. This is where healing can take place as we can see the truth behind our feelings, fears, and desires.
The intent of meditation is not to gain new things or go to new places, but rather to see what we already have and appreciate who we already are.
Through meditation we can know our true selves and see that we are all special beings, full of light, born complete and whole and intimately connected to the underlying forces of the Universe.
Chakra Meditation Series
8 Mondays beginning October 16th
9:15 – 10:45 am
Pathway to Wellness (in Georgetown South)
$157
Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that hold our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual selves together. Each chakra has a specific job on each of those levels and in order to be truly happy and healthy they need to be in balance.
Trauma can cause the chakras to become unbalanced or blocked. Meditation is a technique that can help balance and strengthen the chakras.
This is an 8 week program, each week we will learn about one of the 7 main chakras, and then do a meditation to open clear and balance the chakra in question. The 8th will focus on balancing the entire system and learning about additional chakras.
